Search for the next Miss Universe Malaysia


OUR Miss Universe Organization and Just Capella Sdn. Bhd., the new license holder for the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant, announced the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant on February 17 at an official event in St. Regis Kuala Lumpur. This marked the official start of the hunt for the next Miss Universe Malaysia.

New license holder Datin Vira Poppy Capella is an Indonesian singer and head of PT Capella Swastika Karya in Jakarta. Just Capella CEO Dato Westin Chu, a successful Malaysian businessman with years of experience, is also part of her new team.

Datin Vira Poppy Capella said, “We are very pleased that JKN Global Group, the owner of the Miss Universe organization, has appointed us to manage the Miss Universe pageant in Malaysia.

Miss Universe is committed to empowering women and encouraging diversity, and we share the vision of creating an incredible impact through Miss Universe Malaysia 2023.

She noted that the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant is a stage in which women gain the skills they need to make a significant difference in their personal, professional and charitable lives, enabling them to serve as role models for their communities and followers. It also gives them the ability to stand and stand on their own.

Dato’ Westin also stated that adding new energy, originality and creativity to the latest competition will elevate the quality of the Miss Universe Malaysia brand to a higher level with its five Gs – Give, Kindness, Generous, Gratitude and Go Green.

In order to maintain integrity, clarity, sincerity and fairness in all actions and judgments, Just Capella will also implement new procedures.

There will be a number of qualifying rounds for the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant, including competitions for swimsuits, evening dresses and interviews.

The winner of the pageant will represent Malaysia in the Miss Universe pageant where she will compete against other contenders from around the world for the coveted Miss Universe crown. As part of their official Asian trip, Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonni Gabrielle, Andreina Martinez Funier from the Dominican Republic and Gabriela Dos Santos from Curaçao were invited as special guests.

The first private Miss Universe jet to be used for the title winner’s official travel around the world was unveiled in front of the crowd by Ann Jakratutatip, the owner of the Miss Universe Organization, ensuring travel safety. The three amazing special guests stressed how happy they were to visit Malaysia for the first time, how kind everyone was and how they hope to come soon.

They also took the time to speak on stage about their own experiences, giving all the girls the confidence that beauty is not only about appearance, but about self-confidence and how elegantly they carry themselves to make a positive impact on their communities.

When asked what advice she would give to young women wishing to compete during a media Q&A session, Miss Universe responded, “It’s time to find your mission in life.” She encouraged the young ladies to take risks and act on their goals and dreams.

She remarked, “If not now, then when?”
