Debris covers a beach in Santa Cruz County as flood warnings continue

Flood warnings remained in place for parts of south-central California on Saturday, March 11, after the region received excessive rainfall. On Friday morning, severe flooding prompted evacuation orders that were later rescinded by Santa Cruz officials who said the threat of flooding waterways had diminished. Local media reported that sections of the roads leading to Soquel were badly damaged by flooding. The region’s flood watch will remain in place on Saturday “until further notice,” according to the National Weather Service.
