New data showed that a third of students of unemployed parents are skipping NAPLAN exams.

Findings from the Australian Office for Curriculum Evaluation and Accountability show a growing gap in test scores between richer and poorer students.

There are also reports of some principals encouraging students to stay at home so as not to detract from the overall results of the school.
