ASD may order hacked IT systems as part of proposed reforms: Clennell

According to Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell, the Australian Communications Authority could be given the power to requisition the IT systems of cyberattacked Australian companies under recently proposed reforms.

The proposed reforms follow the Optus and Medibank hack last year.

“It is my understanding that this question is posed in a discussion paper to be published later today, drafted by former Telstra boss Andy Penn and others, and it is on the path to a cybersecurity policy,” he said.
