Scientists have long believed that our planet is built on four layers of rocks, minerals and magma deposited over millions of years of existence.
But researchers now think the world has five main layers after discovering a previously undetectable one Iron ball 400 miles wide inside the Earth’s inner core. The discovery could help experts better understand the origins of the place we call home.
And then there are hidden layers of history beneath our feet—roads, cities, and lifestyles that have been hidden and forgotten over time.
As we dig into these lost chapters, stories have the ability to come alive again.

When engineers tunneled under Amsterdam’s centuries-old architecture to build the North-South metro line, it was like stepping back in time.
The result of a difficult 15-year operation was a system of underground trains – and Underground museum with 10,000 artifacts discovered during the process.
Archaeologists have dismantled the mud displaced during the project and found a variety of items, including 115,000-year-old shells, medieval relics, and even antique cell phones.
Visitors can see exhibits at Rockin Station, where many artifacts have been found that reveal Amsterdam’s past.
The bell-shaped mushroom that people have used for centuries as a fire starter may now prove useful in the fight against the climate crisis.
The hardy organism, nicknamed the “tinder fungus”, may one day replace some plastics.
Part of the fungus Strength similar to plywood or leatherbut it weighs less than any of them.
Scientists believe the fungus could be used as shock absorbers in sports equipment and other consumer products.

Astronomers discovered the “forbidden” planet outside of our solar system.
The exoplanet, named TOI 5205b, is roughly the size of Jupiter, Earth’s largest neighbor. An unusual world has been discovered orbiting a small cold star that has only a fraction of the light, size and warmth of our Sun.
Researchers do not understand how such a large planet arose around a tiny star, hence its forbidden existence. But the gas giant is making scientists question what they know about how planets form.
Meanwhile, scientists have discovered an ancient riverbed in the oldest and driest desert on Earth it is remarkably similar to the Jezero crater on Mars.
The grave of two brothers who lived in the Bronze Age more than 3,000 years ago may help shed light on some of the medical mysteries of history.

The tiny white huts that spring up on the beaches of South Africa and its offshore islands are a bit small for vacationers, but the dwellings are just right for a different type of avid beach-goer.

The project started in 2018. In minutes the disappearing penguins ran straight to their new homes.
